Hello all! Happy Sunday before First Day of Fall :)
I wanted to let you know that I'll be having a trunk show at The Sewing Hive on Saturday, October 5 from 10:00 -> 1:00 to show off my handmade ponchos and pooch-os (dog coats!). I hope you can stop by to say hello, see what the studio is all about, buy or place an order for a poncho or coat, and even sign up for my classes on November 7 and November 16 where I'll teach you how to make a poncho and a pooch-o. Check out the link below for more information on The Hive, the show and the classes. Hope to see you there! https://www.sewinghive.com/events https://www.sewinghive.com/all-classes/ponch-class https://www.sewinghive.com/all-classes/pooch-os-class-for-your-pet I know I'm not the only one who feels this way!
Instead of working on ponchos (fleece in the heat and humidity, no thank you!), I instead turned my craving to simple projects of making pillowcases, cinch sacks and cosmetic bags. I love making them so much, seriously. Quick projects from scrap material, and the opportunity to blend some colors together to make beautiful and useful items. The family will be getting all kinds of handmade stuff this year for the holidays (spoiler). :D You can check out my creations - which are available for sale on the "Fun Stuff" page of this site. But now, the chill is coming in the air in the evenings. Starting to feel fresher air at night; windows can be left open to catch the breezes. And with that little twinge in the air, I am compelled back to making my ponchos. I have an order pending for a beautiful woman whose family wants to dress her in tie-dye yellow. I like it - she's bright and sunny, and this will keep her warm and safe on mornings when she directs traffic in front of the school. I'm also planning a super fun ponchos from a stretchy leopard color print - this one will include a lining and fur trim. I am excited to see how it turns out. For now though, enjoy the change of seasons; the beautiful days of September (there is no sky more blue and beautiful than the sky of September days), and revel in the fresh air. Be well. XO |
