This is my favorite time of year, hands down. I love the changing colors, the crisp smell of the air, the crunch of leaves.
I love the distinction of the seasons we've had this year, and the swoon worthy leaf changing. I'll be at The Sewing Hive on Saturday, November 9 from 10:00am - 2:00pm to teach a class on poncho making. Basic skills required (like - have you sewn before, know how to operated a machine, sewn straight stitches?) and I'll help you create your own poncho, and give you the skills to hack it for different designs. You'll leave the class confident in how to make this wearble art and use those skills to make more for Christmas gifts. It is such a treat to learn how to make something, and then share that gift with others. I know you'll enjoy and I hope to see you there!! First - thanks to all who came out to the Trunk Show on October 5 at The Sewing Hive! Great fun, and it's always nice to meet people who are learning to sew, or learning how to expand on their skills.
Upcoming in December is the Holiday Trolley which travels through Clintonville making stops along the way at different retailers/establishments to allow folks to do a little shopping from local small businesses and enjoy the holiday spirit. More to come on that topic as all the details are made known. For now - get out your long awaited pumpkin spice lattes, a bit of Apple Jack Brandy, and start up the firepit. Don't forget your poncho!
