The threat of Winter Storm Harper was enough to make sure I had plenty of fabric and thread in my sewing studio. And bottled water too of course! Last week I had a shelf full of items ready for assembling and final quality check and I ended up with ten dog coats of varying sizes, two baby blankets with fantastic camel print, several hats with pom-poms and a statement making poncho that I had been agonizing over mentally for weeks! I mean it. I was scratching my head on how to make the design I wanted and each time I got close to figuring it out it's like a fog came over my brain and the secret to the design just slipped away. Several times I had that "oh - I got it now! I know how to do …. wait. Whaaa….?" Poof and gone. Yesterday I refused to let it happen again and studied and studied and made two wrong prototypes almost gave up and then it came to me again - this time crystal clear. And thus, the Chocolate Dipped Poncho was born. And guess what? After all of that, it's too small for me - grrrr….. but it is for sale here and now I know I can make it again. Whew! Cold weather has finally hit. Time to get a poncho to add to your layers, or just to laze around on the couch. You'll thank me later. XO.
